Обязательные налоги на товары, ввозимые в страну или вывозимые за ее пределы. Система установленных пошлин, подлежащих взиманию с товаров, перемещающихся через границу, является таможенным тарифом. Цель внешнеторгового налогообложения - увеличение государственных доходов. В развитых странах таможенные пошлины являются одним из источников поступления денежных средств в бюджет. Однако ставки пошлин, взимаемых в соответствии с таможенным тарифом, в большей мере выполняют функции экономического воздействия на объем и товарную структуру импорта.
